The indie/pop-rock band SWIM released their new single “The Chase” on April 5th. Written collectively by the band, the track is fun and energetic despite speaking of personal doubt in a relationship. It blends together various elements of pop, rock, and indie.

About “The Chase”, the band states:
“The Chase was written by all members of the band, slowly coming together as they wrote each section of the song. The song speaks to uncertainty and doubt that one may feel in a relationship, while struggling to make it through. What started as a simple chord progression would be recorded and polished over the course of the year to become the version that is released today.”

SWIM is based in Stony Brook, New York. The band has been active at venues across Long Island since 2015 and was voted one of the Top 10 bands on Long Island during the summer of 2017 in Newsday’s Battle of the Bands. Following the release of their self-titled debut EP, they performed at notable local venues which lead them to national stages such as SXSW in Austin, Texas. In 2017, they released ‘Finally, Someone’, which featured six tracks that revolved around the themes of love lost, love longed-for, and love found. Their last single “Heartbeat Connection” earned over 200,000 listens on Spotify. SWIM’s thoughtful lyrics, pop melodies, and rhythmic guitar and bass tip their hat to indie rock influences while staying true to their unique brand of pop-rock.
