Known for pushing boundaries in all aspects of his art, Crywolf released the music video “Mabúl [CEPHALOTUS]”. This video is technically part two of three of his ‘WIDOW’ short film series and starts right in the middle of the action. It follows his evocative sixteen-track album ‘widow [OBLIVIØN Pt. I]’, which was released on March 22nd.

In the video we see his character drowning, seemingly stuck in a sort of purgatory where he is unable to let go of his life. There is building anxiety throughout the jarring and captivating video. It stands alone as a beautiful visual expression while simultaneously performing as a part of a larger emotional story that will unfold throughout ‘WIDOW’.

Crywolf, otherwise known as Justin Taylor Phillips, is a producer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles, California. Carving his own musical path, he colors outside of the lines, leading to a unique and indefinable sound. His haunting vocals, abstract lyricism, atmospheric beats, and cinematic instrumentals provide a fully immersive experience.

Having prepared for the short film series by doing free diving training and learning how to hold his breath underwater for the entire four minutes of the song, he repeatedly pushes his own limits. As he continues paving his own path, Crywolf is one to watch.
