The alternative duo Modern Mimes released a new music video for their single “Mind Lies”. Their music fuses heavy guitar riffs, haunting vocals, provoking lyrics, electronic drums, and catchy pop melodies.

Consisting of Adi Elcida Hernandez (vocals/guitar/sampling) and Ernesto Paez (double neck guitar bass), the duo is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After almost three years of quietly crafting their sound, they released their debut album ‘Wake Up’ in 2017. They followed up the album with a cover of Type O Negative’s “I Don’t Wanna Be Me”. The cover got the attention of Type O Negative, who not approved of the cover but also promoted the single and video. They have performed two years in a row at Riptide Music Festival, toured the Southeastern United States, played SXSW, and played WJRR’s Earthday Birthday with Godsmack and Three Days Grace.

Their sophomore album ‘The Gray’ was released in the fall of 2018. It was produced by Rick Lander (Flaw, Dead Horse Trauma) and Anthony Santonocito (John Hampson of Nine Days, Brianna Taylor). Modern Mimes is a chaotic reflection of the inner workings of Adi and Ernesto, who create music in hopes of inspiring listeners to journey through their subconscious and look within.
