The metal/hard rock band Black Dawn released their EP ‘On Blackened Wings’ on May 3rd via Pavement Entertainment.

Since 1996, the band has been performing in the Long Island and New York City areas of New York. The band consists of Matt Kotten (vocals/lead guitar), Tom Kelly (rhythm guitar), Shawn Cox (bass guitar – formerly of New York City’s Sworn Enemy), and Enzo DiPaolo (drums). Their first album ‘Absence of Time’ was released in 1999 and their second ‘Age of Reason’ in 2004. Ten years later, they released their EP ‘Until We Meet’ via Blue Pie Records.

The band has performed and participated in numerous shows, festivals, competitions, and conferences from New York City to as far as Los Angeles. They have opened for acts such as Fozzy, Puddle of Mudd, Fear Factory, Kings X, LA Guns, Biohazard, Michale Graves (former Misfits vocalist), Anvil, Geoff Tate (Queensryche), Blaze Bayley (Iron Maiden), Tim “Ripper” Owens (Judas Priest), Ace Frehley (KISS), and more. They have also performed in many famous venues including Webster Hall, CBGB’s, the Continental, the Hard Rock Cafe, Stage 48, The Gramercy Theater, and more.

In 2017, the band signed with Pavement Entertainment, a Chicago-based independent label, to prepare for the release of their new EP. Now available, Black Dawn’s EP ‘On Blackened Wings’ is receiving positive reviews and gaining attention both locally and beyond.
