New alt-pop band Haunter released their debut single “Love You Better” as well as its music video. The track was produced and mixed by Tyler Smyth (I Prevail/Falling In Reverse/Blessthefall).

About “Love You Better”, guitarist Enoma Asowata stated:
“[The single] was born from two very different experiences. Our vocalist Lucy, and myself were writing this song based off of our dating lives. She was writing from the perspective of a person who understands that their relationship isn’t healthy and neither partners are happy. So the kinder thing to do is split up and tell them that there is someone out there that will give them what they want; it’s just not her. I was writing from my personal experience of wanting to date someone I had feelings for but they did not feel the same. They were kind about it but it was very much a friend zone scenario. What I loved about the writing process is that Lucy and I never talked about what we were going to share, it just came out really organically. We’ve always written from true places and put a romantic sort spin on them.”

The band consists of Lucy Lenoir (vocals), Mark Schroeder (bass), Mike Ray (guitar/synth), and Enoma Asowata (guitar/synth). They are a group of former emo kids and one metalhead that ditched the loud guitars for big hooks and pop sensibilities. They just completed work on a series of songs with Grammy-nominated rock/metal producer Tyler Smyth (I Prevail/Falling In Reverse/Blessthefall) in Los Angeles, California. Citing influences from Chvrches, Ellie Goulding, The Chainsmokers, and Imagine Dragons, they blend their pop foundation with slick electronic elements and soaring, anthemic vocals.

Haunter’s debut single “Love You Better” was released on February 14th, and their new single “Miss Me” which features R I L E Y will be dropping on May 15th.
