New Jersey-based pop-punk band Nude Shoes released their new single “Billy’s Here, Love, I’ve Got to Go” and its music video. The track is about grief and coping with the feelings of losing someone.

About the single, vocalist Andy Katz stated:
“The song is dedicated to a very dear friend of mine who suddenly passed away last January. It is about grief, and coping with the feelings of losing someone very close to you, at such a young age so suddenly.”

About the video, he continued:
“The video is a time warp back to a party in the 1960’s, we shot it in a house that hasn’t been renovated since that time. We had close friends show up in their best 60’s outfits to have a party with us. Everything from the wooden panel walls, the carpeting, the furniture, and the props were all found in the house. The song is also dedicated to a personal friend that passed unexpectedly. We know she’s proud of us and we love and miss her very much.”

For the band’s vocalist Andy Katz, 2017 proved to be a life-changing year. He ended previous musical projects and put parts of his life on hold to deal with his mental health. Unbeknownst to the public, he fell into a relapse. He had been battling through the worst flare-up he’s had since being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis 14 years prior. Between surgeries and rounds of new medication, he teamed up with some of his best friends to record the first EP for his new project Nude Shoes. Through his producer Pat Risi, he met lead guitarist Billy Butka. Through him, the band family grew by four additional members consisting of Chris Steele (vocals/guitar), Sean Lavery (bass), Tyler Patchell (drums), and Giulio Bozzone (guitar).

The new single “Billy’s Here, Love, I’ve Got to Go” is the first release from Nude Shoes since their debut EP in March of 2019.
