Michigan-based blackened hardcore project xIron Sharpens Ironx released the debut EP ‘The Tragedy Of Mankind’ via Under City Records. A music video for the single “Among Shadows”, which focuses on mental health and overcoming mental struggles, dropped last month.
Formed from the remnants and pieces of multiple music endeavors, the band was formed in 2019 by sole member Larry Passenier (Infinite Design/Time Of Plague) as a means to create the music that he was encompassed in growing up. Mending his straight edge lyrics and music spanning genres from hardcore to black metal, he cites bands like Lock Up, Ringworm, Shai Hulud, and Pig Destroyer as influences.
In December of 2019, he recorded the single “Rip Down The Sky” that cites the struggles that every human being deals with on a daily basis. Whether that struggle be with substance abuse or with depression, we all struggle. He joined the roster at Under City Records in February of 2020 and will be recording more music in 2020 at Exit Door Productions. All music that he ever creates will be available for free.
The point of xIron Sharpens Ironx is to share the music, the straight edge viewpoint, and a message of unity throughout the music scene everywhere.
